My PhD started with digital technology and inclusive learning. But it didn't end there.

I went looking for a framework that applied to every learner. That led me to executive function — and then to the challenge of how we make something largely invisible, visible.

But perhaps the most important part of the research was that, over time, we stopped looking only at the learner.

The technology became less important. The bigger questions became about the tasks, teaching, routines and environments around them — and the hidden EF demands within all of those things.

That shift has shaped almost everything I've done since.
